Dr. Michael A. G. Haykin just presented a paper titled, “The Life of John Newton, with particular reference to his hymns and letters” at the monthly Sovereign Grace Fellowship Pastoral Studies being held at Toronto Baptist Seminary. Here is a PDF of that paper for you all!

Wonder if Dr. Haykin would consider allow illustrations of his presentations. I am more of a visual learner and can see the potential of designing a mini “course” on relevant leaders through Church History. Thanks for posting this paper!
Keith,
I totally agree with you. I think it would make his presentations have a lot more “punch” to them. They’re already great, but there’s room for improvement. I think also the course idea sounds good to. We should mention this to Dr. Haykin.
Thank you for the link! I think that the church should utilize the wisdom of John Newton now more than ever. He offered so much more than Amazing Grace. I would have loved to attend that conference (3 years late…)
perhaps you would be interested in a post I’ve done about John Newton where I pick apart some of his thoughts from his Olney preface.
